Standard Gears

Genesis Gears and Mechanical Components manufactures the highest quality gears for various applications at competitive prices. Our gears are accurate to the 0.0002 inches with complete required finish availability.

Standard Gears

Spur Gear

Spur Gears

Spur gears also known as cylindrical gears are one of the more common gear types. They consist of straight cut gears with a tooth line that is parallel to the centerline

Gear Details

  • Fine pitch gears ranging from 16DP-180DP

  • Quality standard AGMA 10

  • Available in stainless steel and aluminum

Helical Gears

Helical Gears

Helical gears have a slanted tooth trace which allows for a larger contact ratio. This results in a smoother and quieter gear compared to spur gears. Allowing the forces to be distributed gradually when engaged with the next tooth

  • Fine pitch gears ranging from 16DP-180DP

  • Quality standard AGMA 10

  • Available in stainless steel and aluminum

Internal Gears

Internal Gears

Internal gears have teeth cut on the internal surface of the cylinder. Typically, this type of gear engages with external cylindrical gears, revolving unidirectionally. Internal gears provide more load capacity to external cylindrical gears

  • Fine pitch gears ranging from 16DP-180DP

  • Quality standard AGMA 10

  • Available in stainless steel and aluminum

Bevel Gear

Bevel Gears

A bevel gear is a cylindrical cone gear that translates motion across a perpendicular or 90-degree angle. When mating with another bevel gear the teeth are equivalent

  • Quality standard AGMA 10

  • Available in stainless steel and aluminum

Antibacklash

Anti-Backlash Gears

Antibacklash gears are for fine motor control applications to significantly reduce backlash or "play". Backlash occurs when there is a change in the rotational direction and the distance between gear teeth will determine the sensitivity to fine adjustments. Anti-backlash uses two gears with opposing spring tension to significantly increase tooth surface contact throughout the entirety of each rotational direction
